What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us provide essential functionality and, with your consent, improve your experience.
Cookies we use
Necessary cookies (always active)
These are required for Ambital to function. You cannot opt out of these.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token | Maintains your login session | Session / 30 days |
next-auth.csrf-token | Prevents cross-site request forgery | Session |
next-auth.callback-url | Manages authentication redirects | Session |
ambital-cookie-consent | Stores your cookie preferences | 1 year |
Analytics cookies (optional)
These help us understand how people use Ambital so we can improve the platform. They are only set if you consent.
We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to see which pages and features people use, and to spot errors. Until you choose “Accept all” or tick Analytics, PostHog sends nothing and stores nothing on your device. If you accept, it links your activity to your account while you're signed in. It never records your screen or the text you type, and it never receives the content of your projects, clients, emails or Ambi conversations.
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ph_<project key>_posthog | Recognises your browser between visits so PostHog can count visits and journeys | 1 year |
__ph_opt_in_out_<project key> (local storage) | Remembers whether analytics is on or off in this browser | Until you clear it |
Marketing cookies (optional)
These would be used to personalise content or measure ad campaigns. They are only set if you consent.
No marketing cookies are currently in use. This section will be updated if we add them.
Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time: reopens the cookie banner, and signed-in users can also use Settings > Privacy. Turning analytics off stops PostHog straight away and deletes what it stored in your browser.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling necessary cookies may prevent Ambital from functioning correctly.
