Ambital

Work types

Set up for the work you actually sell

Ambital runs 11 kinds of client work: delivery projects, builds, design, retainers, interim roles, campaigns, social, paid ads, audits and packaged services. Tell it what a project is for and it sets the billing model, the tabs and the phases for you.

Every plan can run every billing model

How it works

One question when you start a project

  1. 01Say what it's forPick the kind of work from the list. It's the same list as the pages below, so what you read here is what you get in the app.
  2. 02Ambital sets it upThe billing model, the tabs the project shows, the phases it starts with and how the client signs off. No blank project to configure.
  3. 03Change anything, then reuse itSwitch tabs on or off, rename phases, and save your version as a template for the next client.

Mixed work

Most people run three of these at once

A retainer, a fixed-fee project and a day-rate engagement can all be live on the same login. Each project keeps its own billing model; your timesheets, forecast and invoices see all of them.

Work type questions

Straight answers

Can I change the setup after I pick a work type?
Yes. The work type only sets the starting point. Tabs, phases and the billing model can all be changed later, on any plan.
Do I need a different plan for different work types?
Every plan runs every billing model. Some tabs a work type turns on, such as the client portal or social scheduling, need a higher plan. Each work type's page says which.
Can one client have more than one kind of project?
Yes. A client can have a retainer and a campaign running at the same time, each with its own billing and its own tabs.
Can I save my own version?
Yes. Save any project as a template and start the next one from it.
