Sync and connection problems

When calendar, email or accounting data looks stale — work down this list.

Nine times out of ten, "sync is broken" is one of four things. Work down the list in order.

1. It's just not synced yet

Sync runs on a schedule, not instantly. A meeting created two minutes ago or an invoice just paid in Xero can take a little while to appear. If it's been under an hour, patience is a legitimate fix.

2. The connection needs re-authorising

Providers expire access tokens — after a password change, a security review, or (for Google during our beta) their weekly re-consent cycle for unverified apps.

Go to Settings → Integrations. A connection that has genuinely stopped shows it on its card, and the notification bell flags it in red. Click Reconnect, approve access again, and sync resumes on the next run — including a catch-up of what was missed.

During the beta: Google shows an "unverified app" warning while our verification is in progress — click Advanced → Continue. Being asked to re-approve weekly is Google's process, not a fault.

3. The right account, the wrong scope

A connection can be live but missing a permission — for example a Google account connected for calendar only, when you're expecting email. Open the account's card under Settings → Integrations and check its per-service toggles and granted scopes; the card shows when fewer scopes were granted than needed. Reconnect and approve everything it asks for.

4. It's syncing — just not where you're looking

  • Calendar reads your primary calendar only. Events on a secondary calendar won't appear.
  • Email is routed per project. A thread with no matching project link lands nowhere — check the project's email settings, and see Connecting Google.
  • Xero: invoices match to projects — an unmatched invoice exists but isn't on the project you're staring at.

Still stuck?

Raise a ticket from Help & support (or the ? panel on any page) and include which account or connection, and what you expected to appear. Those two facts usually halve the round-trips.
