Login and access problems
The two front doors, expired invites, locked features, and how to reach support.
Two different front doors
Ambital has two sign-ins, and using the wrong one is the most common access mystery:
- Operators (you and your team) sign in at the main Log in.
- Clients sign in at the portal login — the link in their invite email. A client account only ever reaches the portal; it can't open the operator side, by design.
If a client says "it won't let me in", first check which door they're knocking on.
Forgotten passwords
Both login pages have a reset link that emails a secure link to the address on the account. Operators and portal users each reset through their own door. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam, then confirm the address actually matches the account.
"My invite doesn't work"
Portal invites expire after 14 days, and each carries a temporary password for first sign-in. For a lapsed invite, just send a fresh one from Client Portal — nothing else needs undoing. See Inviting a client to the portal.
"I can't see a feature"
Three possibilities, in order of likelihood:
- Plan — the feature belongs to a higher tier. Its card or page says which, and help articles carry a tier badge; see Plans and billing.
- Permissions — a capability your admin hasn't granted; see Team and permissions.
- It's per-project — portal extras like the retainer statement are switched on per project, not globally.
"We can't add another person"
Seats are capped by plan (1 on Free/Pro/Business, 3 on Business Pro) — but client portal users are free and unlimited, so check whether the person actually needs an operator seat or just portal access.
New signups: verify your email
A new account must verify its email address before the first sign-in — the link is in the welcome email, and the login page can resend it.
Still stuck?
Help & support in the app raises a ticket (you'll get a reference and replies by email). If you can't sign in at all, use the contact form on the website instead.
