Ask Ambi
Ambi, Ambital's assistant, has read everything on your project — or across your whole business — before you ask.
Ask Ambi is the button with the Ambital mark at the bottom-right of every page. Click it to open a chat with Ambi — Ambital's assistant, powered by Claude — that already knows your data, so you can ask questions and get lists you can act on instead of digging through tabs.
It's included with your plan up to a monthly token allowance — Free 100k, Pro 1M, Business 2M, Business Pro 3M, Teams 5M — which resets on the 1st. Settings → AI shows how much of it you've used; a whole-project question is roughly 20–40k tokens, a status update draft far less. When the allowance runs out you can add an AI Boost on the Billing page (£5 a month for another million tokens — about thirty more whole-project questions — on any paid plan, removable any time), upgrade, wait for the 1st, or connect your own API key in Settings → AI — Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (GPT) — which removes the allowance (the provider bills you directly) and unlocks their larger models. Connect both and a switch on the same page picks which one Ambi runs on; the included allowance always runs on Claude. Nothing is sent to Anthropic until you press send, and only the data described below goes with your question.
Two scopes
- This project — on a project page, Ambi reads that project in full: people, phases, milestones, risks, decisions, tasks and their comments, meeting notes and summaries from your notetaker (plus the full transcript of the most recent meetings that have one), status updates, project emails, client-portal messages, internal team notes, approvals, change requests, files, links, invoices and recent activity in linked Slack channels.
- Whole business — anywhere else (or by flicking the switch at the top of the drawer on a project page), Ambi sees your team, every project you can access with headline numbers, time logged in the last 30 days, your own open tasks, meetings past and upcoming, red/amber risks, decisions and approvals waiting, status updates, portal messages, unread emails and the notes inbox. Where your seat allows it, the pipeline, companies, outstanding invoices, bills to pay and a Money this financial year section are included too: paid so far, billed but unpaid, work not yet invoiced, secured retainer periods, weighted pipeline, and the month-by-month forecast from the Forecast page — so "what am I on track to bring in this year" is answered from the same numbers you see on screen.
In the business view, name a project and Ambi loads that project's full dossier for the reply — so "what did we agree on the Vic call on Friday?" works from the dashboard as well as from the project.
Ambi comes to you, too
You don't always have to ask. On Business, Business Pro and Teams, Ambi reviews each of your projects every working morning. It suggests new tasks, task updates, things to look at and risks, each with the reason and where it came from. Find them on each project's Ambi tab and under Ambi in the main menu, just under Home. Press Run now to get a review straight away. See Ambi's daily review.
Things it's good at
- "Review Friday's meeting notes and list the tasks, decisions and approvals I should add" — you get a list with suggested owners, dates and sections to approve before you add anything.
- "Summarise this project's status in five bullets."
- "What has the client said in emails and portal messages this week?"
- "Which projects are over budget or slipping?"
- "What needs my attention today?"
Ambi only answers from what it can see. If something genuinely isn't in Ambital it will say so rather than guess.
Privacy and seats
- Team notes marked for specific people are only included for those people.
- A seat that can't open Invoices, CRM or the Business area doesn't get those figures from the copilot either — a team member's copilot sees their client work and their own tasks, mail and meetings, not the business's money or pipeline.
- Emails and meeting notes follow the All inboxes & meeting notes permission on the Team page: without it, the copilot only reads the mail that person synced and the meetings they were in.
- In the Business or Personal areas the drawer opens about the whole business; on a project page it opens about the project you're on.
- Conversations are saved per project (and one for the business) so you can pick up where you left off. The bin icon clears one.
- Content marked internal is never suggested for sharing with a client verbatim.
- Team only. Ambi, its answers and its suggestions never appear in the client portal, and clients can't use Ambi.
